The Ultimate Photo Op

President Obama has offended me.

Anyone who has read this blog since its' inception knows that while I did not vote for him, I did not immediately oppose him. Like many other americans,I saw his great potential to unite the country, banishing race as a factor of disunity, and feared only his affection for bigger government. He has, sadly, used his potential to increase disunity, and has saddled the country with possibly insurmountable debt. All that, while raising my opposition, did not personally offend me. Now it's different.

President Obama embarked on Air Force One under cover of night for Afghanistan. He spent that night in a comfortable bed, was served the food and drink he wanted, had, essentially all the comforts of a well staffed home.

He disembarked at Bagram in Afghanistan and spent six...total six...hours there, at night, gave a speech to hastily gathered troops and had a short visit with President Karzai- all well photographed. Then, back on that comfortable flying hotel he hopped, and traveled home in style.

How much, I want to know , did that campaign stop cost us? That photo op! There is, apparently, chit chat around Kabul that he was afraid to come in daylight.

Wonderful...just what we need.

And nary an effort to talk with General McChrystal while he was there. Do I recall another slight to General McChrystal early on?

This trip illustrates the worst of Mr. Obama, and in my mind's eye, I can see him, in bed in the White House, laughing his sides off.

I remain offended.
