After the Vote

One way or another we are nearing the moment when Obamacare will pass or fail. The results of the battle over votes are still unknowable, but if what we see is what we get, we are in dire straits.

Compromise is essential in governing. Very little gets done without it. I see none here; this is forceful railroading. From the sham summit and the egregious bribes for votes, to the Slaughter Rule, the object has been to slide this Obamanation through in the face of clear public objection.

The combining of both health care and education transformation in this bill will, if it passes, give President Obama and his motley crew the long sought opportunity to control the most basic facets of American life. There is already a shadow government structure in place that could make Congress a mere rubber stamp. This passage will, to all intents and purposes, seal the deal, and certainly, for those among us who believe that Americans' rights come from Congress, it will be a moment to celebrate. The rest of us will say goodbye to our Constitution, our exceptionalism and our faith in the future.

If it fails to pass, we must usher in a newly dedicated government, one that will get to work on the economy and give us a health bill the right way, to do the right things, based on our Constitution.

Whether it passes or fails we must,at last, truly drain the swamp.
