A Brilliant Idea for Oz

I have it! The totally positive solution for our finance problems. Just look at all that has been accomplished in the few months of the new administration! It is inspiring to see all that action even if I find the results unappetizing...it's still a free country.

So! (My mind is boggled by the simplicity of it), why don't we simply limit the Congress to one six month session, then turn off the lights, cut off the support facilities and let them go home(so their constituents can really get to know them!). Whatever else needs to be done can be done by phone, secure e-mail, and remote conferences using both. A skeleton crew(chosen by both parties and consisting of ten members) can handle the fort from a (moderately priced) hotel in DC and perhaps rotate. Salaries would of course be cut in half, as would expense allowance et al. You get the picture. There would be half the opportunity for earmarks, and the cut to that carbon footprint would be huge!!

Doesn't it just make good sense? Clearly we have underestimated their capabilities, which is insulting and must stop. And, since they have given up reading the Bills they produce, they need far less on-site time.

I am awed by my brilliance and confidently await some of the adulation that seems to be heaped on sharp talkers. I've always longed for my own cult...why not now!
