The Need to Know

The country is flying blind. We are in dangerous times, and it is urgent that defensive decisions be made. They cannot safely be made, however, when the nation is ignorant of essential fact: We are woefully ignorant of the Muslim religion,the place of Sharia Law within that religion, and the degree to which moderate muslims are free of Sharia.

It is worth noting that despite the prominence in the news of the Ground Zero Mosque question and the Koran burning plan,there is little or nothing being heard from the large number of moderate muslims that we hear about, but rarely hear from. Where is their indignation about being misrepresented? Where are the marches, large or small?

How do these Muslims view these two questions? It is time for a national debate. Because this religion is so much a total way of life, it requires explanation. It is not Muslims Americans fear, it is the power of Sharia to radicalize them and make them lethal.

Or am I wrong? I don't claim to know Islam. I do know that we had better learn a lot more, and quickly!
