Is it my imagination or are there a lot of things We the Public ought to know that we just don’t seem to get access to? Is that part of a vast right…or left… wing conspiracy, or just the way things are now routinely done in Washington? I don’t know. There is certainly the feel of something pervasive, a noxious miasma rising from a swamp, but is it organized, a star chamber-like thing, or just the way things are? I’m not a conspiracy theory buff, so I will go with the latter.
What I would like to see right now: Hillary Clinton’s tax records, John Kerry’s naval records, the name of the person or group that let Sandy Berger off the hook on his lie detector test, Bill Clinton’s records, promised, but somehow hung up at his library…not intentionally of course!
Why don’t we have access to those? We should. Who is hiding them and how do they do it? We had better solve this problem or things will only get worse. How about choosing/electing a Public Ombudsman to front for us, to fight for us, and to have some legal status that can give him(or her) clout?
One idea. If someone has a better plan I’d love to hear it.
