On Arrogance

I had intended to write this as a direct follow up on the Obama decision to move the trial of KSM to New York. But I have watched the fireworks over this decision while, at the same time, watching the Obama Asia trip. What is common to both is arrogance of such dimensions that it is mind boggling. Arrogance easily leads to stupidity, and that is plain to see in both the trial decision and the trip.

There is no compelling reason to hold the trial in New York that is not political. It raises risk level, will take years, cost a fortune, and cause so much disruption in the city that the already damaged NYC economy will dramatically shrink further. No matter, the trial will go on! Ask yourself why?

The Chinese saw through Mr. Obama and sent him home empty handed. That he has no substance was abundantly clear to them and the world at large. It was also humiliating for this great nation; arrogance at a time of self generated weakness is always good for a laugh.

The rest of the trip was little different. Words are no longer enough, and once past the speeches President Obama's skills fade rapidly.

I am fed up with these people. The White House and the Congress resemble hyenas desperate to feed.That their arrogance is apparent and their stupidity visible doesn't reduce their threat. They have accumulated substantial power and lust for more.

I believe, finally, that they are a threat to the substance of the nation and I will do my best to see them sent packing in 2010 and 2012. I hope that won't be too late.
