It is always difficult to admit to a grievous error, but when you screw up it is wise to be honest about it!
My error was a lulu: inattention and carelessness, all that!
What I did. I got two embassy phone numbers and transposed them, then did not listen to the answering individual state their identity before plunging into the question I meant for the OTHER embassy. The two embassies were those of Honduras and Venezuela.
When you foul up, go for the gold!
I cheerfully told Venezuela how much I supported Micheletti and sent them to the blog. That was the only worthwhile bit in this whole story. Perhaps they got a typical american opinion that differed from the ones they hear in DC.
All this came at a time when for some reason it is more difficult to edit and republish these postings. So I have obliterated the two involved. Will get on with their replacement later today. Will also speak to HONDURAS!!
They may enjoy knowing that Venezuela got to read my comments and my wish to organize a large tour to bring some income to that small beleaguered country. Yes, that was in the now absent blog post too!
As I said, I blew it, bigtime!!
